Patrick Boyd

Patrick Boyd is an award-winning artist whose work explores time, motion, and space. With a background in holography, photography, and 3D lenticular works, Patrick creates immersive experiences that engage viewers through a range of perspectives. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, he has received notable accolades including a Fulbright Fellowship and an Artist-in-Residence position at the Museum of Holography in New York City. He has also been awarded fellowships at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln in Germany and Tsukuba University in Japan.

Patrick’s art is an eclectic blend of photography, holography, science, and technology. His innovative lenticular prints and holographic works explore the intersection of light, perception, and narrative, offering viewers a futuristic experience that is imbued with nostalgia. His imagery—often combining industrial and bucolic elements—creates an emotive world where two and three dimensions blur, and where real life, light, shadow, and motion collide.

His work has been exhibited worldwide and is held in prestigious collections, including the Kunsthalle Würth, ZKM in Karlsruhe, the MIT Museum in Boston, and the Exploratorium in San Francisco. Patrick’s works are notoriously difficult to capture in photographs, as their true depth and motion can only be experienced first hand.

Just a quick note to say that the true magic of these artworks really comes to life when you see them in person! Photographs, especially on the web, don’t quite do justice to the depth and dimension of the lenticulars and holograms. They’re full of 3D magic that only reveals itself when you experience them up close—so if you get the chance, come see them for yourself! if you want to see animations of the images” visit Instagram.
